Caterpillar is proud to announce the introduction of the new 973D track loader. The 973D is the last model to complete Caterpillar’s successful D-Series Track Type Loaders line. The 973D is equipped with the Cat C9 ACERT and U.S. EPA Tier 3 engine providing 196 net kW (263 net hp).
The 973D replaces the previous 973C and offers unbeatable features to meet customer’s expectations. Serviceability on the 973D is greatly improved. All the engine daily maintenance points are now located on the right side of the 973D for quick and easy access to the oil gage and filter, the sampling valve, primary and secondary fuel filters and the air filter.
Operator comfort and visibility were also enhanced. A new windshield, larger doors and a new design of the machine contribute to increase the visibility by 8% on average, ranging from 3% for the door windows to 25.8% for side windows. The new fender design allows the operator to have an excellent rear view. Once situated on his seat, the operator can easily view the area on which he works and can see the tracks of the machine on the sides, the bucket and the ripper.
